Tomboy-LaTeX - LaTeX math plugin for Tomboy

What Is It?

Tomboy-LaTeX is a plugin for the desktop note-taking application Tomboy. It automatically converts LaTeX math code enclosed in \[...\] into inline images. Clicking on the image or moving the cursor over the image reveals the markup again.

From Version 0.6 on, custom LaTeX macros can be defined in the preferences dialog of the addin.
From 0.7 on, also \( \) formulas are parsed and $ $ formulas can optionally be enabled.

Of course, you need Tomboy installed to use the plugin.
Furthermore, a LaTeX install is required on the PATH and
For versions before 0.6, convert (ImageMagick) is needed to create the images, for versions from 0.6 on, dvipng is used instead.

Download and License

Due to a patch by Tom Weingarten, versions from 0.5 on can now be considered stable. It has been reported that the LaTeX code is not hidden in Windows. Please tell me if this also happens in your installation or not.

Note that the versions 0.4 and 0.5 need Tomboy 0.7 or later and the new Mono.Addins interface (special thanks to Bjørn Haagensen for the conversion). Version 0.3 is essentially the same but works with earlier versions of Tomboy and uses the Tomboy Plugin interface.
